Announcing the First-Ever

On Saturday, February 22nd!

Yes, this is the 11-hour party to commemorate 11 years of Enigma. If you're
receiving this message you are (probably) connected with Enigma in some
way, so please think about coming! If you have no clue what Enigma is then
you probably shouldn't be on this mailing; accept my apologies for using an
incorrect e-mail address.

What's The Plan?
----------------

The plan is for friends, both recent and long-term, to get together, have
fun, and do whatever they feel like that won't damage Robert's condo.

Activities will include a few special events as well:

- Bring something small for the first Enigma Time Capsule
- Help reconstruct the 'Timeline of Enigma'
- Bring and browse through Enigma memoribilia
- Trade tall tales from the Photon wars
- Dine at (Sgt.) Bruno's Italian Resturaunt
- Don a collection of EnigmaDots (tm) [we'll explain later]

What If I Can't Make It To LA?
------------------------------

The Enigmaversary is for everyone, even our remote compatriots. We are
looking into ways of spreading the festivities across the internet
including IRC chats, a dedicated web page, and failing all that, at least
simple e-mail. More on this as it develops, but if you're interested in
attending by internet, send me a note so I can judge the level of interest.

But Wait, There's More...
-------------------------

Why restrict ourselves to just a single day of festivities. The unofficial
pre-Enigmaversary activity will be to catch the evening premiere of The
Empire Strikes Back Special Edition at the Mann Chinese. More on this as
the date nears as well.

Are We Missing Somebody?
------------------------

If you know of other displaced Enigmans who aren't on this mailing list
recipient list, please FORWARD this announcement on to them. Also please
send a note to myself (hurt@ipac.caltech.edu) and Tamara (eridani@juno.com)
including the address so we can append it to our lists.

What We Need
------------

Tamara and I are still trying to gather together various things for the
party. If you have any of this please bring it along:

- Photos; we need lots of photos, anthing that might be fun to see.

- Videos; Enigma (and Enigmans) have been in the news on occasion, and
sometimes videos have been made at games. We'd like to put together as much
of this as possible to show at the party, so if you have something of this
nature please contact Robert & Tamara.

- Time Capsule items; anthing relatively compact and thematically relevant
will be enthusiastically accepted.

- Anything else I haven't mentioned but you think would be fun anyway.
