The Coming of Havoc

Chanted by the High Umpah Fire Orcs Shaman, Thunk-thunk

The Primary Gods of the Fire Orcs, Yultan, Mordak and Fury, looked down upon their minions, and they were displeased. They saw that the Fire Orcs were savage, vicious, and brutal, without a shred of mercy towards their enemies, uncompromising on the field of battle. And yet, to the Gods, the Orcs were somehow too...gentle...for their tastes.

Some whispered it was the fault of Luminos, the Timid God. Some said it was all that could be expected of a mere mortal race, that after all, not everyone can be Fury, God of War. Yet the Gods of the Fire Orcs wanted more.

They tried mild persuasion: burnings, mass whippings, wholesale slaughter. Yet a measure of restraint, an insufficient level of response, remained in the Orcs as they ravaged countrysides and pillaged the towns and cities of lesser races. And the problem did continue to dwell on the Gods' minds.

And then Cold Mordak, God of Death, conceived a solution. He proposed to bring in Havoc, the God of Destruction, into the pantheon of the Fire Orcs. "I will bear the cost", whispered chill Mordak, "in order to make the Fire Orcs into what we expect of them". And so it was done. Havoc, the Destroyer, God of Destruction took his place within the pantheon.

And lo, the results were everything the Gods desired. No longer did the Fire Orcs slay and maim simply for the moment, during the zest of combat. Now, under the heavy guidance of Havoc, they exulted in the concrete achievements gained through war as well, the destruction, the devastation, the widespread ruination of the Earth. The lust for destruction carried the Fire Orcs to levels of savagery undreamed of in the old days. And the Fire Orcs were happy, and so were their Gods.
