The Death of the Feranyi

And so it came to be that a dark time fell on the peoples, as the Gods plotted, schemed, and fought amongst themselves. Guile, force, reason, yea, even treachery were among the tools of the Gods in those times. And as the God’s struggled, so did the mortal races on earth, perishing or prospering as the battles raged.

And it came to be that the Feranyi, blessed of the Gods of Light and of Joy and Pain, prospered greatly, even unto earning the jealousy of various other Gods. And these Gods, knowing that Luminos, God of Light, had great plans, saw their opportunity. They lured Luminos’ guardian, the mighty Kwammanga away with offers of friendship and power, and they bespake rumors in the ear of Fury, God of War, and among others they sowed discord and discontent. And their plans bore fruition, and Luminos was struck down, and without his hand of protection the Feranyi soon followed.

And it was that Luminos, and his guardian Kwammanga, who had himself been of Feranyi blood, were so involved in their quest to make Havoc a fertile land, that they were unable to respond properly, yea, even to honor the passing of the beloved race. And through the plotting of the Gods was the great Luminos finally brought to his end, sacrificed in the pursuit of his noble quest.

But Kwammanga, unlike his benefactor and his people, remained.

And He journeyed to the home of His people, and He saw the cities, that had once towered gracefully towards the Sun, and the bodies lying in the sun, and the cavorting hordes of the despoilers who had brought the last Feranyi low. And in His rage and Sorrow, he swore his Oath, that whatever the cost, however difficult, He would punish those who had done this, and restore the glorious race that had once gloried in the Light and the Wisdom that they so treasured.

Kwammanga, Guardian of Souls

And so it came to be that Kwammanga, bereft of both his people and his benefactor, but not of his purpose, journeyed to the Underworld, seeking the souls of his people. But they were not to be found in the Underworld. And so Kwammanga searched, and asked of the Gods, but none could answer him.

Euclidites, however, remembering a service Kwammanga had performed for him, and seeing the potential of the wandering spirit, gave to Kwammanga of his powers, and raised him up, and said "Lo, Kwammanga, you are worthy, join the ranks of the Gods, and assist me, that I may in turn assist you."

And Kwammanga found himself raised, with mighty powers given to him to aid in His Quest. And he sought out the souls of His people, who would no longer be hidden from Him. But even with His new sight, he saw no Feranyi, and so He searched far and wide.

And at last, as his journeying carried him to the edge of the Void, where even Gods tread carefully, he saw Feranyi souls, gathered in the foul grasp of the demon, Lucifer. And did He declare that no demon would stand in His way, and thus was the battle begun.
