But Inzl-Za found that while the way of the warrior was a good way, and was suited to him, it did not fill the empty niches of his soul. And so he sought out the brothers of the spirit, and asked to be taught their ways. And they took him in, and he spoke vows, and joined them in the service of the Gods. Again, he showed aptitude, and rose high, serving the Gods and the Brotherhood well with the strength of his spirit and arms.
But still Inzl-Za found that he was not complete. He traveled into remoteness, and sought out the high places, there to contemplate, and seek guidance. And as he climbed, ever higher, even to rising above the clouds, a time came when the clouds parted below him, revealing unto him a vision of glory. The Earth lay spread below him like a map, in all the glorious colors that the Gods had seen fit to create it in, full of life and beauty, and surmounting it all, a rainbow, majestic in it’s simplicity and grace.
Inzl-Za, struck by this vision of glory, thought that this must surely be the sign he sought, if only he could understand. And he turned aside, and with the skills he had learned, besought the spirit of Luminos, the lord of all Light, to explain this vision, since surely it came from Him. But Luminos spoke a wonder unto Inzl-Za, saying that nay, the rainbow was not his, nor in fact was the rainbow the dominion of any God, it simply was.
Inzl-Za was struck by this wonder, and begged Luminos to explain, but He had no answer, only saying that perhaps the rainbow belonged to a God that had not yet revealed Himself. This Inzl-Za accepted, and asked Luminos where he should look for this unkown God. Luminos could not answer, but seeing the distress of his supplicant, and being a kind God, suggested that Inzl-Za might accompany Him, serving as his bodyguard on His journeys, and so travel to the places where he should search. And so Inzl-Za dedicated himself to serve Luminos, and took unto himself the new name Kwammanga, which in the secret tongue of the brotherhood means "He who seeks beyond the rainbow."
